We are pleased to offer two schemes to support attendance at ACHS FUTURES 2020:

1) thirty registration fee waivers to cover the early bird registration fee of £290;

2) six bursaries towards travel and accommodation up to a value of £1,290 inclusive of this fee waiver.

These registration fee waivers and bursaries are offered to presenters who would otherwise not be able to participate in the conference for financial reasons. The schemes will prioritise participants from or based in low/ middle income countries, unwaged presenters including students and/ or those with no institutional support. For the purposes of the scheme, low/ middle income countries are defined as all those on the DAC list of ODA recipients for 2020.

The registration fee waivers and five of the bursaries are supported by the Conference Chair. A further travel and accommodation bursary is supported by the UCLUniversity of Gothenburg Centre for Critical Heritage Studies.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a bursary and/ or registration fee waiver your submission to ACHS Futures 2020 must already be accepted onto the programme. You will have received notification of whether your submission has been accepted by the end of January 2020.

We ask potential applicants to both schemes to please consider carefully whether you have exhausted all other sources including institutional funding and funding available in your home country. The number of fee waivers and bursaries we can award is strictly limited, and any award given where it is less needed will take away from another potential delegate.

Application

To apply, please download the application form which covers both 1) the fee waiver and; 2) the fee waiver with travel and accommodation bursary schemes. Please return your completed form together with your CV to the conference email achsconference2020@gmail.com. The deadline for applications is Friday 28 February. We aim to notify applicants of the outcome by Friday 6 March.

Terms and conditions

Registration waivers are granted at the sole discretion of the ACHS Futures 2020 Conference Chair and Organisers. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

For travel and accommodation bursaries, bookings will be made directly by the conference organisers up to the value of the award as individual cases permit.
